So, we were on our way back home from a 6 hour trip on Sunday afternoon, and I was planning on listening to the MKE orientation webinar on my phone. Things didn’t work out as planned, as we ran into some really rotten weather plus road construction which also affected internet connectivity , so long story short, I missed most of the training. In fact, because of prior commitments, Monday was pretty much a loss as well.

Finally on Tuesday, I dove into the members area, found my way to the materials that I needed, and started absorbing the replays. I was off and running. Well, actually not quite. Printer problems also altered my schedule of getting the handouts printed out for my binders.

It seemed that I was never going to get off the ground. I was 2 days behind everybody else, but I promised myself that I would catch up the best I could. It was 2:45 am by the time I finished for the night (morning?), and my alarm is set for 5:30 to allow time for my verity reading before my morning chapel time.

Last night, grabbing my index card with my written intention from the Standing Tall class, I attempted to expand and turn that into the first draft of my DMP. I was determined that I was staying up until I had that completed and submitted in order to be assigned my guide.

Mission accomplished, but by the time I had my encounter with Napoleon, Og, and Hannel , including a recording of my voice reading part one of the Master Key and my DMP, I finally hit the bed at 4:45 for my 5:30 alarm bell.

Tonight, as you can see, I am working on my blog to make the deadline, and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

A rocky start for sure, – but I’m stepping out there, and looking forward to the rest of the journey.

  • Jack, what a journey in week 1. Great on you for finding a way to get your goals accomplished! I think that I heard before a statement like this: “Many will find this extremely difficult, others will conquer with ease, but it is absolutely essential to secure complete control of the body before you are ready to progress”. In this week, it sounds to me like you found control. Great work!

  • Jack, through all of that you perseverance shined through. Congratulations on keeping your positive attitude.
