minutes remaining

This morning, as I had “Do it now” stuck in my head, I wanted to go ahead and get my chore done that I had listed on my “Chore Card”. I completed it in about an hour, and I celebrated the accomplishment, waving my arms, and shouting.

I picked up the “Chore Card”, reviewed my PPN’s that I promised to manifest, flipped over the card, and looked at the blue rectangle. Observing all rectangles in my bedroom/office, I looked at my lap top, various boxes, furniture, etc. Then, all of a sudden, I felt like slapping my palm into my forehead.

It was then that I realized that I was surrounded by blue rectangles, from floor to ceiling. You see, I live in an area where adobe brick is the primary building material, besides concrete. My room is on the second floor, with the ceiling open to the roof, slanting from one side to the other, varying from about 8 to about 14 feet in height. All 4 walls are adobe brick, painted a medium blue – hundreds of blue rectangles. Beside my laptop is an abstract painting, painted by my wife. It is also various shades of blue and, of course, rectangular.

It reminded me of the mathematical question presented in the Week 2 MKE webinar. I was looking for rectangles, when I am surrounded by blue rectangles. The lesson from this experience, for me, is that sometimes I am so busy looking for something, I do not realize that I am in the middle of it, or that it is in the middle of me.

Meet Michael Bordyn

I’ve always loved the outdoors and exploring. Growing up in Florida, I earned a degree in forestry from the University of Florida, and worked in that profession for 15 years. Subsequent forays in sales and customer service drew me into a desire to help others. My wife, Millie and I have been married for 21 years, and spent several years living in western North Carolina, and upstate New York. A brief visit to South America inspired us to move to Ecuador, where we have been living in a completely different environment for the last year and a half.
Still exploring…….
