So, two things – still working on revising my DMP…how is this so hard? It seems pretty straightforward – but I’m resisting it for some reason. It’s not like it’s actually written in stone.

Um…oh, right the second thing – Squirrel! I know I’ve always multitasked, but lately, it’s like I’m bouncing around and can’t focus. I will literally open my email to look for something very specific and boom – a subject of a different email will distract me and down the rabbit hole I go. I know how to do one thing at a time, but I haven’t been doing that and haven’t tried to stop until now so I need a lot more practice…

What’s helped me so much is the “DO IT NOW” mantra. I’ve gotten done two things I’ve put off forever and finished a few other normal things before they were due…It helps to interrupt the distraction in the moment and the “rabbit” gets away.

I keep watching my emotions and it’s really interesting to realize when I’m angry – it’s always something like I get cut off in traffic or one of the kids on a skateboard almost runs into me again or when the city decides to close freeway ramps and one lane when Sting has a concert and so traffic gets backed up.

It doesn’t stay will me at all like it used to so that’s a relief – I can notice and then look for something good about it, like last night, I’m stuck in traffic, but decided I could enjoy more music on the way home as we crawled along.

Practicing gratitude for some years now is what has helped me look for the good in all situations – that is definitely a good habit. If I can manifest one good habit, then I think others will happen too, as I keep working in this program.

Ok, that was more than two things… insert smiley face here.
