I was driving home from yoga in advance of Sundays class with the dominant thought, “this what life is supposed to be like.” Feeling free, lighthearted and stress-free. I was full of anticipation and excitement for what the future holds. I didn’t feel bogged down or worried about going to work the next day or weighed down by people.

That evening I became ill with a sore throat. A personal telltale metaphysical sign that I’m usually not speaking my truth or am stressed about something. It’s usually attributed to something taking place in my life, so I pay particular attention to these occurrences and examine ‘why I not feeling my best’.

I realized that it was because I was concerned with the cost of my monthly yoga membership rate at the studio I recently joined. While the rate is fair and they are phenomenal it’s a bit astronomical and a stretch for my budget. As such I’ve been maximizing my discounted student membership usage. Becoming ill disrupted the plan and meant I would lose opportunities to attend classes for a few days.

Upon recovery I reached out to the studio, explained that I was seeking permission to resume classes or to discern if they preferred that I continue quarantining. They were emphatic to my experience, gave me permission to resume classes and extended my discounted membership by SEVEN days, to account for the three days that I missed. This situation made me realize that I created an illusion about something that I thought I needed to be concerned with.

In Og Mandino’s The Greatest Salesman In The World, he says we have nothing to fear and yet my life decisions have all been predicated upon fear. It’s time for that to stop! It’s time for me to have faith in myself, to press forward, know that I am GREAT and that I am not a mistake.

There is a reason why I am here on this earth, and it is time for me to walk forward in my GREATNESS!

  • Thank you Tarsha for receiving it in the way you did. It may very well be bold but I promise you that I carefully wrote every word out of love for you. You put yourself out there I at least can recognize that and be kind. I think you are an amazing woman and I’m not just saying that. I say that because I know for a fact that the way of a “Peaceful Warrior” is about utter vulnerability and you have that down.

  • Rich – Very true. I appreciate your boldness and find a lot of value in what you point out. 🙏🏽 Thank you. I will be sure to incorporate your powerful insightful into my thoughts, focus and words!

  • I agree with Jen, Tarsha. “It is time for you to walk forward in your GREATNESS!” 🙂

  • Hi Tarsha, I love your willingness to speak the truth about yourself. At the risk of being bold please allow me to share something. According to what was shown to us last Sunday. It would appear that going by your own words that you are speaking exactly what you are getting. Example: “I was full of anticipation and excitement for what the future holds.” By your very words you are going to love life in the future but not now. This way your subby will never give it to you now. According to what we are being taught I think it would be helpful to change your focus and your words to live that way now by speaking in the present when you talk about the wonderful way you were feeling. Just a thought I could be wrong. May the moderators keep this from getting posted if I am wrong.

  • Very inspiring share Tarsha!! You are so right… time for you to walk forward in your GREATNESS! Let your natural light shine!! Thanks for sharing your experience with us.
