I’ve been spending time re-visiting Mervin’s classes and whilst seemingly simple I am finding it quite challenging to grasp. I think I understand it and then I’m not able to retain the information and then become overloaded. I pause and remind myself to take one step at a time, it’s new to me so take a breath and let it go as Mervin advised and go back to it the next day and the mind will have a better chance of understanding.
I am hoping it will click into place if I keep watching.
I really enjoyed Mervin’s explanation of the doors – I had whizzed round the house and found the door in seconds which confirmed to me that I am visual.
Typically I will always opt for audio learning rather than books although I have lots of books.
I love books, I find I have a sense of what they are about and tend to buy on the way they feel opposed to reading what they are about. I enjoy books and have every intention of reading them and then they end up collecting dust on the shelf as I find it difficult to read more than a few lines before my mind wanders.
Mervin’s methods will be an excellent way to overcome this.
I plan to study every few days and practice adding in reading 5 minutes at a time alongside reading my DMP, Blue Print, OG, index cards and 7 habits of a mental diet, this one’s illuminating, there’s a continuous flow of negativity, gossip and moaning going on around me (lol) – it’s challenging, I find my conversation has joined in before I’ve had chance to stop myself.
Once I understand the prefixes, subfixes and root words I am sure it will make reading so much easier and allow me to whip through books with the snake method and zig zag.
This could be the start of a whole new chapter!!
I always keep my promises!
