Palm Springs. CA

Palm Springs is a gorgeous city in Riverside County, California. This desert town has long been a destination for celebrities, snowbirds, and vacationers.

One of it’s newest residents is Mike Farkas, the owner, founder and CEO of Hungry Wolf Global Enterprises.

Farkas was interviewed by Carlos Herera from KTLA in Los Angeles in his private Palm Springs home. They are seated outside overlooking the pool and jacuzzi. It is a beautiful 95 degree afternoon with a beautiful breeze coming through the Coachella Valley. They are drinking delicious chilled “sun tea” that Farkas made the day before.

CH – Thank you for inviting me into your beautiful Palm Springs home and allowing me to do this Interview.

MF – You are very welcome Carlos and thank YOU, for this wonderful opportunity.

CH – The story about you and your company recently caught my eye in an article I saw in the LA Times. I understand that your financial success came a little bit later in your life than some. Can you tell us about that?

MF – Of course, I was born and raised in Connecticut and spent my first 62 years there. I had always wanted to be involved with something that helped others. So, right after high school, I joined the local volunteer fire department and was Captain and President for over 20 years. I also did some local fundraising for the national multiple sclerosis society, chairing the local MS WALK for many years.

In 1979 I was hired by one of the largest employers in the area at that time which was Sikorsky Aircraft and spent 40 years there. You might be familiar with the Blackhawk helicopter and we also made the presidential helicopter.

CH – Is that how you became so successful?

MF – No, it gave me a good foundation. However, I remember reading a book called, “Rich Man, Poor Man” by Robert Kiyosaki. And his advice was to “mind your own business.”

In other words, you aren’t going to get rich working for someone else. So, I took that to heart. Although, I didn’t know at the time, an opportunity was right around the corner.

Around 1977, my mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. She did well for a few years. However, fatigue and other symptoms set in and it was harder for her to work. Around that time, my cousin’s wife called and asked if she could share something that might help.

She I introduced my Mother to products made by the SHAKLEE Corp. She said that they were all natural and they had helped her family. She said that she couldn’t be sure what they would do for my Mom but they couldn’t harm her.

My Mother started on a regimen and we called her “the crazy pill lady”. In a short period of time she “felt better”. She continued to take them faithfully while I became best friends with my Doctor. I was there every 4 weeks looking for more medications. It wasn’t too long before I saw my Mom feeling better and I started my own program.

I was told that Shaklee unconditionally guaranteed that I would feel better in about 30 days or my money back – no questions asked! It actually only took 2 weeks for me to notice a difference in how I was feeling and sleeping and how my energy level had increased.

I thought that there might be something to this “stuff” and I started talking to everyone who would listen to me.

CH – You were still working at the factory – did you build your business part time?

MF – yes, right alongside my full time job. Sometimes it wasn’t easy but it was so fulfilling when someone thanked me because they hadn’t felt that good in years!

In addition to introducing others to these very special products, I also told them about Shaklee’s great marketing plan where they could get their products for free and also build an additional stream of income. I taught others what I learned about “leveraging your income”. This is called duplicaton and it is a very powerful system.

I qualified for many National and even a couple of International conventions, all paid 100% by Shaklee. In the 90’s, I had 3 Bonus Cars also fully paid for by this great company.

CH – Wow! It sounds like you were “on your way!”

MF – Yes, I was, but something happened around 2000. I’m pretty sure it was something between my ears. I lost some of my business, I gained some weight and I lost my confidence.

Luckily, I was able to maintain my business at minimum levels for the next 23 years but that is not a great place to be!

CH – So, what turned everything around for you?

MF – I heard about the Master Key Experience with Mark and “the fabulous” Davene Januszewski in Hawaii. You can Google It.

A couple of friends were going through their 6 month training and they were raving about how their “lives had changed.”

I wasn’t onboard immediately but a couple of months later I decided to make a commitment and jump into the pool. The rest is history!

CH – Wait! You can’t leave me hanging.

MF – Well, Carlos, they taught me how to think for myself. The training teaches you the relationship between your conscious and subconscious minds and how to replace bad habits with good habits.

It’s all science based and in the first 5 weeks I rid myself of procrastination, I lost 6 pounds, started sleeping better and learned that in order to get, you have to give.

CH – That must be incredibly expensive? 6 months of training?

MF – Actually, you can not buy it. It is not for sale. You can only get accepted through a scholarship that is funded by the previous class. You have heard of “pay it forward”?

HC – Yes, what an incredible concept. So, everything you have now came from what you learned in 2023?

MF – Yes, exactly. I was able to double my income by reaching the top in my profession. I invested wisely in real estate and started two foundations.

One which supports after school programs for inner-city kids and another that feeds the homeless with healthy nutritious, natural, whole foods when they make certain commitments to their health and their future – with our support of course. It is very gratifying.

Personally, I reached my weight loss goal in December of 2024 and I continue to build a loving relationship with my Higher Power which is also an integral part of my personal growth.

When you give without expectation of reciprocity, then you are in the dynamic flow of giving and receiving and life is fun!
