MKE Week 10 – Laws & Their Application

The Master Key, Part Ten, brought great excitement and some frustration this week. Why are the Laws of the Universe not taught in school? Well, let me back up a minute and then come full circle.

In 10:22, Haanel states, “Wisdom, strength, courage and all harmonious conditions are the result of power and we have seen that all power is from within; likewise, every lack, limitation or adverse circumstance is the result of weakness, and weakness is simply absence of power; it comes from nowhere, it is nothing — the remedy then is simply to develop power, and this is accomplished in exactly the same manner that all power is developed, by exercise.”

As a fitness professional, this got my attention as I draw analogy to physical exercise. Yet Haanel is speaking about a different exercise. The exercise of the mind. As a child of seven or so years, my father would ask, “why did you misbehave?”. I quickly learned that ‘I don’t know’ was not an acceptable response.

This “exercise” was repeated daily after dinner until I would become ‘accountable’ for my actions and respond with the correct response. The response of, “because my brother made me mad”, or “I didn’t want to do what mom asked me to do”. A punishment that fit the offense was assigned and the after dinner meetings would end with a “why didn’t you say that on day one?” (Forehead slap!).

Of course at that age I had no idea what my father was instilling in me. All he wanted was for us to think and be responsible for the actions that followed those thoughts. Cause and Effect. Thanks Dad!

Continuing with Haanel in 10:23, “This exercise consists in making an application of your knowledge. Knowledge will not apply itself. You must make the application. Abundance will not come to you out of the sky, neither will it drop into your lap, but a conscious realization of the law of attraction and the intention bring it into operation for a certain, definite and specific purpose, and the will to carry out this purpose will bring about the materialization of your desire by a natural law of transference. If you are in business, it will increase and develop along regular channels, possibly new or unusual channels of distribution will be opened and when the law becomes fully operative, you will find that the things you seek are seeking you.”

Returning to my first question, why is this not taught in school? If I could learn from my father at age seven, cause and effect as it related to my poor behavior that got me into trouble, requiring discipline of my inappropriate behavior, wouldn’t I have had the capacity to learn this law?

Just like exercise of the body, wouldn’t I exercise my mind with practice and consistency? I want to find the things that are seeking me! So, yes it is a blessing that I learn and apply it now, not only for myself. Also, for those who see and hear the changes in me to be empowered to do the same.

I accept this assignment!
