I was born in Detroit. As the fifth of six children, I attended a Parochial school for 12 years. My Mom stayed home to raise us, and my Dad worked to provide. They owned a summer business on a lake with cabins, camping, and fishing (sounds more luxurious than it was). I started working at an early age in that business. I did develop a strong work ethic. My Dad died suddenly when I was a teenager leaving us in a serious predicament.
I decided I wanted to go to college and studied hard in high school to earn scholarships to make that possible. My goal was to teach Mathematics. My plan was to start college -then enter a religious order of nuns. Along the way, I met a great young man, and he won me over! During college, I ran into a health challenge involving exceptionally low energy and serious depression. The staff sent me home. It was like being in a black hole.
That changed my original plan. After recovering, I worked successfully in a variety of fields: retail, banking, and office work. I continued to struggle with low energy and an occasional bout of depression.
After dating for three years, I married that young man. He stood by me during those strange times. I continued to struggle with low energy and an occasional bout of depression. My faith has always carried me through both good times and times of struggle. God has always kept His hand on me even when I was daggling by a string.
After he got his degree, we moved to Indiana for a position. We started our family and had our children. My husband’s job in engineering had no flexibility at that time so I chose to be a stay-at-home Mom. I loved being able to be a part of their activities.
I was still searching to find an answer to my health challenges. I had tried an array of diets, supplements, and exercise to no avail. A friend invited me to go with her to a nutrition talk. I ended up starting on a wellness plan that made a dramatic difference in my health.
Soon others wanted to know about it, and I decided to research the products and business. Prior to that I would not have had the energy to consider starting a business. I liked what I found and chose it as a career. I realized there were others just like me searching for better health as well as a better way to earn a living.
Most jobs did not allow the time or flexibility I was looking for. I wanted to do something where I could really make a difference and would work well with our family life. I also enjoyed all the education I received in a variety of ways along this journey. Always keeping me on my toes and helping my brain stay sharp.
As years pass, it is a blessing to share time with my retired loving husband, my family, and the special friends I have on this journey. I love mixing up my exercise routines with walking, yoga, ESSENTRICS®, Qigong and POUND. I still love sharing health and wellness with those who want to take responsibility for their wellbeing both physically and financially. The business has not only blessed our health but also created extra savings and tax benefits for our retirement.

Hi Patricia, Interesting how you began your health journey after a time of illness. I agree, having good health is very important. Thank you for sharing your story.
Patricia, the MKE is so very fortunate to have you onboard! 🙂
Thank Patricia for sharing your story. Similar story with my Mom not knowing what was going on health wise. Started a nutrition regimen around 1981 after being diagnosed with MS around 44 years old. I’m here, like you, to grow my mind and my business. Keep it up!
