Sandra Welcome to another exciting episode of “I Always Keep My Promises,” the show that’s all about the power of commitment, determination, and turning dreams into reality. I’m your host, Aston Jones, Galaxy Radio, I am here in the S Hotel Montego Bay Jamaica, and I can’t wait to dive into today’s episode.

Before we get started, I want to remind you to subscribe to our podcast if you haven’t already, and please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform. Your feedback means the world to us!

Aston: Now, let’s get into the heart of today’s episode. I have an extraordinary guest joining us today, someone whose journey is a testament to the incredible results that come from making and keeping promises. Please welcome Sandra Smith!

Guest Introduction
Aston: Sandra is an author, motivational speaker, and financial education expert. She’s committed to achieving her promises and has experienced tremendous success. We’re excited to hear her story and learn from her experiences. Sandra, welcome to the show!

Guest (Sandra Smith): Aston and the Galaxy family, thank you for having me, I’m delighted to be here.

Aston: Sandra, you have such an inspiring story, and I’m eager to dive into it. Let’s start with your promise to publish your best-selling Amazon book, ‘Names Don’t Hurt Me -Coercive Control Survival Guide,’ you published it before 30th December 2023. Can you share what inspired this promise, the title and how you are supporting others?

Sandra Smith: In the past when I looked back, I was the frog in slow boiling water ignoring signs, because I did not know what I did not know and I was living in an abusive relationship. I knew I wanted to share my story, there are so many women out there living in abusive relationship that leave no physical scars.

I recognized the mental scars can take longer to heal than physical scars and others benefited from the survival guide. Those women used the book to reclaim their dream, their purpose, get help and recognize their past is their prep for their amazing future.

I ended up dispelling the rhyme for myself and others and I provided a toolkit women used alongside reading the book.

I am proud knowing I sold over 1200 direct book sales over the last two years and the downloadable e-book sold over 3000 copies during the same period.

I am supporting others through coaching, drawing the genius, beauty and self-confidence out of them, alongside their past /future achievements.

I am supporting women between the ages of 35-50. It does not mean I will not support women either sides of that age group, I will support all women.

I can see Aston, you are thinking – what about men? Do I help and support them also. In the past I have coached men, but I tend to refer them to my good friend ‘Asurius’ as there are areas he can relate to which I can’t.

Aston: Sandra, your journey into public speaking, delivering keynote speeches around the world, and achieving financial success with Genistar is truly remarkable. Can you share more about your experiences and how you balance these various commitments?

Sandra Smith: Aston, I will break this down as you asked three or four questions in one. A good friend of mine talks about synchronicity and when the book hit the stands it was an Amazon Best seller in January and was still in the top 10 of ‘self help’ books in March during International Woman’s month 2024.

The theme was so relevant – ‘When we inspire others to understand and value women’s inclusion, we forge a better world. And when women themselves are inspired to be included, there’s a sense of belonging, relevance and empowerment’.

I expanded the keynote motivational speeches as I was committed to inspire inclusion.

Over the last two years I presented 10 speeches in different locations including the House of Commons and Queen Elizabeth Conference Centre London, UK, the Jamaican Pegus Hotel Kingston, McCormick Place (Chicago, IL) and America’s Center (St. Louis, MO).

The beauty of teaching the financial education meant I was able to do it remotely and help families in the UK. The team was amazing and I found John Campbells ‘Hero Journey, was the key that unlocks so many doors for so many induvial and families.

I would see my name on leaderboards and hear others talking about my success and the speed at which I was promoted in the company and the holidays and trips I won. I kept telling them over and over again that it was not me and there is no ‘I’ in team.

I was excited sharing a formular I found easy to see and this formular enabled me to serve others. The practice was adopted by so many other teams, but I can’t take the credit. I followed what I had learnt from Mark Januszewski over two years ago.

You talked about balance, for me when you do things you love balance becomes easy. As I travel to different locations, I have the opportunity to use all the technology available to strike for me, a brilliant balance, that enabled me to live my purpose in different locations and in different cities whether I was travelling by plane or cruise ship.

The lifestyle afforded me the opportunity to treat my godchildren and their parents and grandparents in some cases the opportunity to go on family holidays. It was so much fun travelling together on the planes and us occupying rooms on the same floor.

Meal times where lively and I often found myself catching up with family in person as I popped in and out of rooms or laugh and joked by the pool. We all still dine out on the glass bottom boat trip we took a year ago when we stayed in the Riu just down the road. The fish were so beautiful and it was the first time Ada had seen fish that large and we were all so close.

Aston: We’re learning so much from Sandra’s experiences, and I hope you, our listeners, are finding inspiration and insights in her journey. But we’re not done yet. Stay tuned for more with Sandra Smith right after this quick break

Aston: Welcome back to “I Always Keep My Promises.” We’re here at the S Hotel Montego Bay Jamaica with Sandra Smith, and the insights she’s sharing are invaluable. Now, Sandra, you’ve talked about your commitment to giving back, volunteering at PACE, and your charitable donations. Can you tell us more about your philanthropic work and its significance in your life?

Sandra Smith: I found so much joy and had so much fun working with the young people aged between 18-31 who were enrolled in PACE at the Folly Oval, Port Antinio. I felt proud at the end of term graduation ceremony hearing the young people speak about their achievements and what the staff (me include) done for them, how they have found jobs and their independence.

I found the 1 on 1 coaching sessions were invaluable to allow them to tap into the genius in them. I have attended 6 graduation ceremonies now and two annual fundraising galas held in New York. The work I am contributing to is invaluable and I got involved following a chance conversation. But I know nothing happens by chance.

I also believe in the 7 Laws of the Mind, the Law of Forgiveness, which served me well to write the book and see all the young people as the kings and queens that they are. The affirmations helped them redirect their negative self-talk.

Aston, I don’t know about you but I have always believed in the 10-10-10-70 rule. I have always saved 10 percent and donated 10 percent to my favorite charity. I see this as another law of nature – the law of giving. One I live by.

For years I never owned a dog, I am a cat lover myself but I know there are many people in the UK and elsewhere who regain their independence alongside their four-legged friend.

Aston: Your dedication to making a positive impact is truly commendable. As we near the end of our conversation, what advice can you offer our listeners who want to start making and keeping their promises and achieving their dreams?

Sandra Smith: Ahhh, where do I start, my initial thoughts are habit and affirmations. As Og Mandino and others have said and I truly believe ‘Good habits are the key to all success’.

There is a poem “Who Am I?” by John Di Lemme which also talks about habit; I love this poem.

Three affirmations I say daily and live by are “I can be what I will to be’;
‘Everything is perfect and everything is improving’ and
‘I am living on purpose and I am on schedule’

I pray, giving thanks each morning and also meditate. The meditation helped me with making internal / mental changes; I follow and take action having worked alongside Mark Januszewski and James MacNeil.

To be fair, I also recognize my hero’s journey. I know the journey I have been on and how I helped and supported others on their journey.

Aston: Sandra, your journey is a testament to the power of commitment and promises. Thank you for being an ambassador of abundant riches and for sharing your wisdom with us today.

Aston: Before we wrap up, I want to remind our listeners that we appreciate your support and would love to hear from you. Share your own promise stories with us on social media using the hashtag #KeepYourPromises. We may feature some of your stories in future episodes.
