Welcome to Mission Monday. This is Kevin Crandal, Marketing Director of Sunrider International North America. I’m here with Randy Fritz, the newest Hero Royal. He has been very successful in building his Sunrider Business and we are hoping to learn from him and be inspired. Welcome Randy.

(Randy) Hi Kevin. Thanks for having me.

(Kevin): Thank you Randy. I’m going to ask you later about what you have been doing recently but could you tell us about your Sunrider journey. Where it started.

(Randy) No problem. I’ve been with Sunrider for over 30 years now. It’s like a family to me. I started in Saskatoon, Canada so long ago because I was looking for something to help me with my health and I was also looking for an income.

My wife and I had been students in the US. We had so little money we were baby sitting homes and one of those homes turned out to be my first sponsor in Sunrider. I had heard a friend was eating these special foods he had gotten in Calgary so I actually asked him if I could come over and he could tell me about them.

After the presentation which was done by slide show. (There was no videos on the internet in those days.) I was very attracted to the foods. But I asked him since it was my need, “Can you make any money at this?”

He didn’t really know since he wasn’t doing the business himself but he was a very positive guy so he said “Sure you can make 10,000 per month.” This was sort of a joke since he knew I knew he didn’t really know so to finish the joke I said. “Great sign me up!” I did sign up.

I didn’t know how to build a business. There was very little training or materials available like now at the time, but I was extremely eager so I would just have an idea and I would try it out.

Within the first week of starting on the foods I had already seen the benefits so I started knocking on doors in the neighborhood of the home we were sitting for. We spoke with all our friends and relatives, I cold-called people out of the phone book.

I visited health centers and spoke with anyone who would listen. Oddly enough I did achieve that 10000 per month. It took over a year and I have enjoyed a six figure income for over 20 years.

(Kevin) That’ impressive.

(Randy) Well I was amazed at my success and deeply grateful.
Oddly though I never could get regularly above that $10000. I often wondered if maybe that was all my mind was programmed for from my first encounter with my sponsor.

Also, it wasn’t all exciting growth.There were years when the company was experimenting with different marketing plans and we lost a lot of people. The only smart thing I did then was to not stop. Now we have a carefully constructed marketing plan which rewards business growth.

Then several years ago we had the “great Sunrider famine” where we could not get enough product. Everyone realized how much they loved the Sunrider foods but I also realized that I had to do something different for the business. The standard “talk to people and find out their needs” from my perspective was not effective enough. Growth was too slow.

I knew from a great training that I was exposed to, how to grow solidly and quickly. It relies on a business builder directly building a new person’s business with 3-way calls in the proper manner. I could not just tell my existing group though.

They had been exposed to so many different trainings, and had settled on a approach that felt comfortable to them and were not open to new ideas. I had to create new business builders from scratch then. I had long since talked with all my warm market. I therefore created an internet sales funnel.

I previously had this idea for this funnel for a long time but I kept on procrastinating. Then the same group that taught the better way to build also had a 26 week course on how to achieve ones goals and stop procrastination. It was that course that broke through those barriers of procrastination and also broke my $10,000 per month barrier.

(Kevin) And how is your life going right now with your new success.

(Randy) I feel a lot more fulfilled. I love the feel of growth and I love having a purpose every day helping people achieve their own dreams. I used to feel like a bit of a fraud. I was receiving pretty good checks still and the company consider me a leader but I didn’t feel like a leader.

There were many so called leaders in the company who were also not growing like they could. It’s extremely exciting to see other groups being influenced towards success just from my previous work.

(Kevin ) I notice I am talking to you in an office. Your home is in Edmonton I think. I’m surprised that you are still living in what I consider an unfriendly cold climate. You could be anywhere.

(Randy) I’m in Edmonton because that is where my close friends are and that is where my spiritual inspiration comes from. Earning $15,000 per month allows me to still live a very good life.

I can take my partner out to any restaurant and not look at the prices. I can take my partner on holidays to warmer climates and not have it controlled by costs. I can help my daughter financially with her new home. I paid off a major part of her mortgage so she doesn’t feel a pinch on a monthly basic. I could have paid the whole mortgage off but I feel it is good for her to go through the process of owing on a home and gradually creating her own assets.

I tend to live a simple life. I don’t live extravagantly and I don’t think I ever will want to. I always make more money than I can spend on myself. Right now my partner Zoe and I are quite active in helping to feed the homeless.

The small group we have joined up with don’t receive any government funding so it feels good to be able to buy food and cooking supplies for this small group of devoted participants. I can be involved with this kind of thing and still have plenty of time for my Sunrider business.

The business is also about food. As everyone listening knows, we have best food in the world for people who are wanting to improve their health and well being. That is also a great motivator.

(Kevin) Well that was an inspiration Randy. I hope everyone listening will be moved to develop their own business and find their own purpose in life.
