If I feel depressed I will sing.
If I feel sad I will laugh.
if I feel ill I will double my labor.
If I feel fear I will plunge ahead.
If I feel inferior I will wear new garments.
If I feel uncertain I will raise my voice.
If I feel poverty I will think of wealth to come.
If I feel incompetent I will remember past success.
If I feel insignificant I will remember my goals.Today I will be master of my emotions.
Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World, The Scroll Marked VI
This passage from Scroll VI reminds me of the Law of Substitution. That we can only think about one thing at a time and that we have the ability to change any thought with a different one. Any negative thought can immediately be changed to a positive one.
My life over the past 16 months has been an emotional roller coaster. By learning how to take charge of my emotions, I have been able to become more calm, peaceful, grateful, serene, and emotionally sober. I am thankful for the tools that have been presented to me.
In the Master Key Experience we are taught to be self-thinkers.
It is a beautiful thing and I am eternally grateful!
You’ve got this! Cheering you on!
Thanks so much for sharing your inspirational blog Mike. I like the Og Mandino quote you chose and how you linked it to the Law of Substitution. You are indeed a self-directed thinker.
