When I heard about the suggestion of being silent for a couple of days or more, I immediately thought – how freakin cool! Six months ago, I would have said, “what are you freakin nuts? I don’t have time for that!”
How far I have come in such a short amount of time. It is a great feeling to continuously chip away at the cement that has been there for so long. I actually can’t wait to do it again.
I did 48 hours of silence last Thursday and Friday. I did not know what to expect, nor did I have any expectations. No phone, texts, computer, emails, television, news or movies and not the uttering of a single sound. There were no fireworks or monumental events, however, I believe that they are on the horizon.
I did have a more calm and serene feeling and I had thoughts about a few things that I would like to make adjustments to. One of which is my Press Release. In my PR, I stated that I had established a couple of foundations. One was feeding the homeless and the other was an after-school program for inner city kids. What I have decided has more to do with teaching these people how to fish.
After attending the Master Key Experience for the past 23 weeks and seeing this part of my journey coming to an end, it is exciting to see that it is really just another beginning, one that I will be working on until my last breath! And if I do things right – long after that!
During my silence I thought about having Og Mandino’s book, The Greatest Salesman in the World, in my hands over 40 years ago – and I never opened it! I am 66 now and still have time left to serve and, make a difference in this World, however, what if I had the MKE back then?
So, wouldn’t it be a great thing to develop a program called Pre-MKE! For pre-teens and teens. We need to get this self-directed thinking into the hands of people earlier!
I don’t know if something is already in the works with Mark and Davene and the crew or if the concept has been talked about (I am sure I am not the first to have this thought) but that is something that I would love to be a part of – let’s DO IT NOW!
Oh, and the best way to do that is to follow Wallace Wattles, The Science of Getting Rich, because we are going to need plenty of resources at our fingertips to manifest this from a thought into reality!
Love your idea. Great post.
Inspiring share Mike. So happy you embraced your extended Silence and recognize the value of it today and going forward.
