minutes remaining

Almost all of my life, I have owned a magnifying glass, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time. I even owned a microscope for over 50 years, until I had to pare down my belongings for a move out of the country.

As a young boy, I was amazed at the intricacies of the world around when observed up close. Many times, I used a magnifying glass to focus the sun’s energy to ignite grass, wood, and paper. I was well aware of the power of focus when it is held in one spot.

It wasn’t until the last couple of weeks, that I was exposed to the same principle in regards to accomplishing my goals in life. I did know that I have had many interests over the years, for example playing the guitar.

Even though I had 2 guitars for many years, and had taken lessons, I still could not play a single song. The problem was maybe too many interests, lack of desire, or just lack of focus.

My priorities have changed, and I have a burning desire to become the person that I was meant to be. I want to leave my mark on the people that I encounter, that will inspire them to do the same.

And so, I am focusing my efforts, just as I did with the magnifying glass as a boy. Maybe I’ll light a fire under someone.

Meet Michael Bordyn

I’ve always loved the outdoors and exploring. Growing up in Florida, I earned a degree in forestry from the University of Florida, and worked in that profession for 15 years. Subsequent forays in sales and customer service drew me into a desire to help others. My wife, Millie and I have been married for 21 years, and spent several years living in western North Carolina, and upstate New York. A brief visit to South America inspired us to move to Ecuador, where we have been living in a completely different environment for the last year and a half.
Still exploring…….
