Was having a conversation today with a neighbor who was walking his neighbors two dogs. So grateful for the Seven Day mental diet. The awareness of what we perceive, what we say and what we think is so powerful.

He kept mentioning all the things that were going wrong in his life, like his wife falling and hurting herself. As a result, he has to walk walking his 2 dogs and his neighbors two dogs twice day.

He also mentioned only getting a 30 cent raise at work and why work more as so much goes to the government in taxes. So now he works the minimum and that’s all he is doing. And how this raise was an insult. And he was complaining about his aches and pains that he has which come and go.

In the past, I would have commiserated with how he was feeling and/or made some negative comments to be on the same wavelength. Today was wonderful as I was able listen and be sympathetic but not make comments except one. I did mention about his wife going to the chiropractor and he said she does.

Yes, the blue color code in me wanting to help. So not perfect but much better as I felt uncomfortable for a few seconds at the start of the conversation but then quickly let it go. Such a liberating feeling to just be there and remaining focused and on track.

Today been focusing more on letting these feelings and thoughts just flow and not hold on to them. Letting negative thoughts and feelings to flow and not holding to them becomes easier. Reminding myself that subby is working in the background and holding on for dear life, especially today. Reminding myself to keep at it and keep taking steps forward and keep doing the work. So grateful with this exercise and creating a different future.
