I was reading a blog the other day from an email about how we are mostly happy with Yes and how we often become upset with No.

The blog said that true empowerment is being grateful for both yes and no and that to handle our no’s and yes’s with grace and poise goes a long way. I read on eagerly digesting it all with a new perspective.

To be grateful when receiving rejection or No really helps with a positive attitude. This I thought to myself shall really help (almost put a will in there) with practicing a positive mental diet.

It goes on to say it is impossible to have two opposing emotions at the same time i.e, you cannot be fearful and grateful at the same time.

What a good idea, I thought to myself. I repeat “do it now” 25 times 3 x a day and add in at the same time 25 things I am grateful for and of course to enjoy the journey both with a no and a yes!

I always keep my promises!

  • Very interesting perspective and commentary. When I read your blog it triggered Emerson’s Law of Compensation to me. There is a whole to everything and if dark then light, if positive then negative, if yes then no. You can’t have one without the other. stimulated my thinking! Thanks for sharing!

  • Love this highlight: “…true empowerment is being grateful for both yes and no and that to handle our no’s and yes’s with grace and poise…” Thank you for reminding me of this insight.
