I started the” Master Key Experience” Course last fall and am now about 4 months into it. I am learning a lot about myself! And yes, I am investing a good amount of time doing the assignments. Also, it has been years since I was in school taking courses with assignments.
Have you ever heard the phrase “when the student is ready, the teacher will appear”? A special person that I had met and interacted with invited me, so I decided to take it on.
In the early weeks, I wrote out my Definite Major Purpose. It was more about what makes me tick than just what I want materially. That is a course in itself!
Then they gave us small habits each week to implement into my life. One of the keys to it was to be able to say, “I always keep my promises.” If you will not do it, do not say it even if it feels easier. It is not always as easy as you think. Once you start to implement it, it makes you think about what you say. Better not to say it.
Another assignment was to read a Lesson and then “Sit” and meditate (staying still) on the insights for 15 minutes.
“The Master Key,” Part One Lesson 1
Those who come into this understanding, are inspired by a new light, a new force, they gain confidence and greater power each day, they realize their hopes and their dreams come true, life has a deeper, fuller, clearer meaning than before.
As a woman of faith, this stillness with focus has allowed my spirit to become open to more of God’s love, wisdom, grace, and the sense that I had been limiting what God could do in my heart and life.
Knowing this, what should I do with this heart of mine?
OG Mandino, GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD, Scroll 2, pg. 59
I will greet this day with love in my heart. And how will I speak? I will laud mine enemies and they will become friends; I will encourage my friends and they will become brothers. Always will I dig for reasons to applaud; never will I scratch for excuses to gossip. When I am tempted to criticize, I will bite my tongue; when I am moved to praise, I will shout from the roofs.
We live in a world where there is a great emphasis on negativity – what if we decide to be spirit lifters and use these guidelines in our speech??
I thought the following idea shared by OG Mandino was also a great one.
GREATEST SALESMAN IN THE WORLD, Scroll 2, pg. 61.
And how will I confront each whom I meet? In only one way. In silence and to myself I will address him and say I Love You. Though spoken in silence these words will shine in my eyes, unwrinkle my brow, bring a smile to my lips, and echo in my voice; and his heart will be opened.
I find myself doing this often. Say it to yourself and you will see that it lifts you and them (give without expectation).
Till next week – Spread your light and love!
Patricia, your bright light comes through in this heartwarming journey of self-discovery. It is beautiful to see. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing a great blog Pat. I like your insight into letting God be God in your life.
Hi Patricia, Good insight on how you have been limiting the power of God. Chipping away at the cement gives you a new begining.
Nice Pat. It is so true how “We live in a world where there is a great emphasis on negativity”. I wonder why that is. Kudos to your friend that invited you to take this course.
