What’s a Theta state? What’s conscious mind versus subconscious mind? What’s a blueprint?
I never gave much thought to how my brain takes in and retains information until I started the Master Key Experience course.
I always thought that the subconscious mind was just in charge of running the functions of the body, like breathing, sleep, etc.. Little did I know that the subconscious mind is programmed during the first 7 years of our lives and uses this programming to send information to our conscious mind on how and what it needs to tell us to do.
During the first 7 years we are in the Theta state. This is where our subconscious mind is like a sponge. It soaks in and retains everything we see and hear. Wow! Big eye opener there. This is the blueprint. We all have one.
So, if the subconscious mind is programmed during the first 7 years of our lives, whether it be with positive or negative information, how do we make changes to get the negative stuff out? Can we make changes?
It turns out that we can change this blueprint by replacing the negative (bad habits) with positive (good habits). Sounds easy enough, but it actually requires a fair amount of work to accomplish. The work isn’t necessarily hard, but it is challenging.
The work is to take a new positive (good habit) and replace an old negative (bad habit) through verbal and physical repetition.
Verbal repetition such as telling yourself multiple times a day that you are or you can … fill in the blank. Physical repetition such as adding colors and shapes to identifiable things that will cue the new positive (good habit).
Here’s the challenge. The subconscious mind doesn’t like change and continually pushes the conscious mind toward the old negative (bad habits). It’s a tough challenge to overcome and I’ve had many failures while working to implement a new blueprint.
The good news is that it can be done, it just takes time and consistent and persistent effort.
I’m up for the challenge.
