Scroll III from The Greatest Salesman in the World, pg 64.
Henceforth will I recognize that each day I am tested by life…If I persist, if I continue to try, if I continue to charge forward, I will succeed….Always will I take another step. IF THAT IS OF NO AVAIL I WILL TAKE ANOTHER, AND YET ANOTHER.
I confess, I have endured moments of sadness.
I have been faithful to the exercises. I observe in myself an imagination that needs much, much practice. The ability to smell or feel during sits…completely absent; that is one example.
Some PPNs, effort, growth and change are hard to measure. We can be specific about our plan of action but how does one measure Spiritual Growth or Autonomy? How does one measure spiritual or mind True Health?
Only we, in our own hearts minds and souls, can recognize progress and success.
I also confess, I have erred; I have compared myself against others on this journey.
I surrender. I accept it is what it is because of what was but I am in control of what it is now and what it will be.
Continue, yes. More effort, yes. Harder, yes…and no.
I employ the Law of Relaxation. I cease trying to force it; mental effort defeats itself per the Law of Relaxation. I let go and allow the persistent effort and practice to do its work.
I allow it to flow, swirl and ebb.
I surrender my personal comparisons to others outward successes and refuse to despair. And as written in GS pg 65,
if this disease of the mind should infect me, I will work on in despair. I will toil and I will endure.
I observe myself. Notice the changes. Acknowledge them. Celebrate them.
No one else may know and be able to see them. But over time, changes currently unobservable by others WILL be noticed as my efforts both wash away the mountain (removes the concrete) and builds the pyramid (reveals the Golden Buddha). They will be able to see that I am living a new life.
As Amy Shirtcliff writes in her Week 9 blog, “What we are doing in the MKE is to create the foundation or roots and place ourselves in the sunlight so that we can grow and bloom into the most beautiful of flowers.”
My seed is underground, germinating. The radicle has emerged. Its roots have shot out. I wait calmly and relaxed for its appearance above-ground. And my oh my…the time, energy and effort to grow the stem, leaves and flowers. Patience, grasshopper.
What I previously felt sad about, I release. I simply take another step, yet another and yet another.
I persist. I win.
I have already won and continue to win each day, each moment. Each step.

Thank you, Laura. I am blessed and so grateful to be part of this journey with all of you.
And you touch mine, Michael. Thank you!
Thank you, Shirley! I trust the journey. Change is guaranteed, of that I have no doubt. (already done and no going back!)
Thank you, Patricia. It is an interesting dichotomy…We each are alone on our journeys yet we are not, as we have each other.
Hi Ramona!
Your reflection on Scroll III is truly captivating. The sincerity and depth of your thoughts resonate profoundly.
The acknowledgment of life’s tests and your unwavering commitment to persist and charge forward, even in moments of sadness, reveal a commendable strength. It’s refreshing to witness your introspection on the need for continuous practice, particularly in refining your imagination.
Your contemplation on the challenge of measuring certain Personal Pivotal Needs (PPNs), such as spiritual growth and autonomy, is thought-provoking. The recognition that progress in these areas is a deeply personal journey, discernible only within our hearts and minds, is a deep realization.
The universal struggle of comparing oneself to others is an aspect many can relate to. Your decision to surrender this inclination and focus on your unique journey is a testament to your growing spiritual wisdom. Taking control of the present and understanding that effort can be both forceful and gracefully allowed to flow, demonstrates a nuanced grasp of the Law of Relaxation.
The analogy of personal growth to the germination of a seed, patiently awaiting its above-ground appearance, is a beautiful metaphor. Your commitment to persist, take each step, and believe in the eventual visibility of your efforts echoes the timeless wisdom of the GSW.
The quote from a fellow masterminder about creating roots and placing oneself in the sunlight for growth is a powerful visualization. Your metaphor of the seed germinating underground, patiently awaiting its time to bloom, showcases a deep understanding of the process of personal development.
In conclusion, your journey, as eloquently expressed in your words, is a testament to the power of persistence, self-reflection, and the acknowledgment of personal victories. Your commitment to growth and the celebration of every step, no matter how small, is truly inspiring. May your journey continue to unfold with grace and triumph.
Thank you for this beautiful heartfelt sharing Ramona. What I am saying is you touch my heart thank you again.
I did really enjoy that exercise of the plant also!👏
Your honest sharing is so helpful. The pitfall of comparison jumped out for me and I’ll take a deeper look at it thanks to your thoughtful insight.
great comment Shirley
Ramona, you’ve been able to capture the angst and the spirit of Og’s Scroll III so well! And I can assure you that those of us who are walking with you on this great Adventure see and delight in your steady growth and progress. You help so many with your insights and questions, even bringing you and us to tears as you share how ah-mazing it is every week–as you did, for example, when you shared with your tribe your Thanksgiving experience. Bliss you said! 🙂
Thank you, Teri. The Haanel exercise that had us imagine a plant germinating and growing was fun because I had already been imagining my germinating seed. Going all the way to flower bloom and the flower seeding was interesting (and I know that it is good to push it to bigger expectations rather than where we see ourselves currently)
I appreciate your input, Robert. I am glad to be in your tribe!
Ramona,
Always a pleasure to read your comments. As to your question of how to measure Spiritual Growth. For me, I do that through the Peace and ability to be in the present moment. As I’ve been focusing on my spirit. The peace is more evident every week, Now.
I’ve seen your progress with the Polo and you are doing great. I’m glad you are in our Key Masters tribe
I loved the way you have described your growth. “My seed is underground, germinating. The radicle has emerged. Its roots have shot out. I wait calmly and relaxed for its appearance above-ground.” Looking forward to the growth toy will encounter as you move in MKE.
