I really needed this call tonight after this last week of celebrating the Christmas Holiday. We were warned to make sure to do our readings and stay up on everything during the holidays. As a “white” I make sure I do EVERTHING and thought this would not be problem for me.
Our week was full of fun with family and friends, staying up late and enjoying each other’s company, which I am sure most people were doing the same over the Holiday. This is the only time of the year where we really get a chance to get together with our friends so I put my readings on the back burner. I felt so burned out with having to do the morning, afternoon and evening readings.
I skipped 4-5 days. I didn’t get my blog in, nor did I have time to watch a movie. Then, my husband and I unexpectantly ended up on the road for 2 full days driving our girls back to Nashville turning around and driving back to Florida. I felt I needed a break from everything while at the same time I hear Marks’ voice in my head telling me to do it now!!!
I did manage to get on the coffee call last Saturday. To be truthful I was wishing this little break could extend a few more weeks, however I know that would undo all I worked for.
As Og Mandino says:
“I must fail often to succeed only once. I persist until I succeed. I try and try and try again. Each obstacle I consider as a mere detour to my goal and a challenge to my profession. I persist and develop my skills as the mariner develops his, by learning to ride out the wrath of each storm”
I didn’t come down on myself too hard for not doing the work but I was so grateful for tonight’s call . That was something I needed to listen to. A makeover for the next 13 weeks!!! I love it!!!
I took a break for almost a week, now I’m back at it and what an amazing way to start off the New Year with a makeover. Even though we have been doing this all along I think it puts it into a different perspective by saying we have 13 weeks left and we work on one makeover a week. As Mark said for those of us left in this course, we are in it til the end, and I am!!!
I was in tears hearing Mark talk about his journey with the baseball team in Fenway Park. It really is true that what you think about the most happens. So many things in my life have come to life just by me constantly thinking about it. It’s simply amazing!
Some of the things I would like to be stronger in through this makeover is persistence and self-control.
I feel this next 13 weeks will bring amazing results in all of our lives and in many different areas of our lives. I am looking forward to the second part of this program and the results we will all see at the end.
Happy New Year everyone!!! This one was a good blog now go check out last week!
I appreciate you sharing your journey! “DO it now” is a household mantra thanks to Mark J. And sometimes the “it” is checking out for a time to feed your soul… I’m happy for you. 💜

This is so true and real and a wonderful share about missing the mark and not letting it take you off track
Your post renewed my desire to become the best me. I took a break and forgot to come back off break. Thank you
Hi Cheryl, Persistence and self-control. Both are very good characteristics to continue growth. I enjoyed your post.
I love your honesty and that takes courage. I so look forward to meeting you in Kauai. Welcome back and Happy New Year!
Great post! Since you have not yet seen one of the movies, from what you’ve shared, I’d recommend “Cool Runnings.”
That a good one Michael never heard the 3 Rs – Mahalo and agree Cheryl’s sharing was great
Hey Cheryl, thanks for sharing. That was a great example of the three R’s. Recognize what’s going on; Realize it’s on you; and Rectify the condition!
Happy New Year!
Thanks Davene. Yes, Mark is a genius, I hope we can come away from this course with some of Mark’s amazing qualities on how he talks to people pulling out of them exactly what he wants them to say.
This is terrific and mahalo for sharing. Mark is an inspiration, you identify with him because you are also, for sure watching him train for that experience was inspiring one of his greatest qualities is even tho he’s a genius he is always willing to listen to feedback and take coaching!
