I chose the picture “just breathe” as a message to myself this week. I have been feeling very pressed by a variety of expectations that accompany ending one year and beginning the new year.
The tasks are quite time-consuming. It is easy to be distracted from your routine. Part of our Master Key Class is daily assignments. This week I have fought with myself to get it done.
Taking a good look at myself, lots of the pressure is from old habits that caused back logs. They could have been reduced with a new habit of “Doing it now” versus letting it stack up.
I did decide to go back and look at a lesson where they talked about tiny habits. I think they can be good to review this time of year and ongoing.
The 4 Tiny Habits – From Master Key Outline Notes – Week 11
- A definite purpose backed by a burning desire for its fulfillment.
- A definite plan, expressed in continuous action.
- A mind closed tightly against all negative and discouraging influences, including negative suggestions of relatives, friends, and acquaintances
- Friendly alliance with one or more persons who will encourage one to follow through with both plan and purpose
In summary, definite purpose, a plan, a shield around our mind to defend against feeding it negative stuff, and having constructive alliances with people who encourage you to grow to be your best self.
The following quote regarding a “Happy Knack” is the way I would like to be! Look at the characteristics: act correctly, tactful, learn easily, complete every task, live in harmony.
The operation of this thought process is seen in those fortunate natures that possess everything that others must acquire by toil, who never have a struggle with conscience because they always act correctly, and can never conduct themselves otherwise than with tact, learn everything easily, complete everything they begin with a happy knack, live in eternal harmony with themselves, without ever reflecting much what they do, or ever experiencing difficulty or toil
Charles Haanel, The Master Key System 11:21
In reviewing these next four quotes, I allowed some of my seeds to be disturbed and am making decisions to create new furrows with good seed.
We are thus thinking on the plane of the absolute and eliminating all consideration of conditions or limitation and are planting a seed which, if left undisturbed, will finally germinate into external fruitite
Chaarles Haanel, The Master Key System 11:19
“The Greatest Salesman in The World, Og Mandino”
Scroll 1 Pg 54“My bad habits must be destroyed, and new furrows prepared for good seed.”
Scroll 3, page 66“Thus will I plant the seed of tomorrow’s success ….…
Scroll 3, Pg 64 “And in truth one step at a time is not too difficult.”
One last thought – I had mentioned in the beginning that I had allowed things to stack up, in other words I procrastinated. I really liked this quote from a lesson.
From Master Key Class 6 -Solving the Puzzle Procrastination
• “Solving the Procrastination Puzzle” Timothy Pychyl, Phd.
“All we are doing is giving problems to our future self.”
My decision is to start to break these items into pieces that go on the calendar to get attention instead of on a pile.
I am claiming this scripture from Isaiah 26:3 NKJV to move me forward. “You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.”
Take a breath, choose His peace, and have a wonderful week!!
