Many years ago, when I was in my 20’s I read about a man who in his 20’s had made a list of 100 things he wanted to accomplish in his life. These were things like climbing Mt Everest, skydiving, scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef, traveling to every country in the world, as well as business and personal goals. When he reached age 90 he had completed 99 of the items on his list! Wow!
That inspired a lot of thought within me, and I began to compile a list of my own. I had no interest in climbing a mountain or jumping out of a perfectly good airplane, but I had a pretty good list going.
I have always wanted to travel the world, so much of the list was targeted on the places I wanted to visit, like Hong Kong (not sure why, but I was intrigued by the massive size and businesses there).
But the number one thing on my list, being a golf nut, was I wanted to work for a company that did golf travel, where I would take groups of golfers to play some of the most famous courses in the world. Not only would I travel and play, but get paid to do it!
Well, over the years my list got shuffled around my desk, into a drawer, under accumulated junk, was pulled out and reviewed from time-to-time.
Lo and behold, thirty years later, I was hired by a company called Sports Challenge, that took teenage athletes overseas to compete in sports against their European counterparts. The sports included golf! I played the famous courses, led groups to three British Open tournaments, and eventually worked for four companies that provided golf travel, including one that I started with a friend.
The ultimate? Serving as Golf Director on a river cruise in Europe where wealthy people played golf every day along the 8-day trip through four countries.
How did this happen? Was it magic? No. Our mind, and our connection to the Universal, has no limits.
Well done!
Hal, great blog about the power of the mind aligned with the Universal! I’m wondering. What was the last thing on that man’s list bucket list? 🙂
Hi Hal, You originally wrote down what you wanted and, over the years read, and envisioned it. And then accomplished being the Gold Director. So much of the MKE in your process. Congratulations
What a wonderful post, Hal! Amazing what can be accomplished by the mind in harmony with universal mind.
