So many times in my life I kept looking at what one could call the prize. The end of an athlete’s road to the Gold Medal thinking that it will bring happiness.
Many times enduring things now thinking it will get better in the future. Not realizing at the time that my subby was focusing on what I said for it to do. “It focused on me having happiness in the future not in the now.”
Saying once I get what I want I will be happy. I remember watching a movie called the “Peaceful Warrior” where Dan Millman (true story) was a gymnast for a certain college and in contention for the Olympics. It is a great movie I recommend it to all. A ton of wonderful insights that teach great principles.
In a particular scene Dan’s life coach, for a lack of a better description ,took Dan for a long hike, a really long hike promising that the destination was worth the trip. Near the end of the trip, he asked Dan to repeat to him what the 3 rules of life are.
Dan proceeded to list them off and they were paradox, humor and change.
1st Paradox: Life is a mystery don’t bother trying to figure it out.
2nd Humor: Keep a sense of humor, especially about yourself. It is a strength beyond all measure.
3rd Change: Know that nothing stays the same.
When they finally reached their destination, Dan was disappointed because he was tricked. Even after reciting the 3 rules of life he didn’t get it at first.
The lesson is simple if we remember the 3 rules for life then it will always be the journey that is important. It will bring us great joy and fulfillment. It took me a good part of my life to get it, but I did.

“It will always be the journey that is important. It will bring us great joy and fulfillment.”
Thank you for sharing this. 🤗
Hey, Rich! Just as Day mentioned, this is a journey. I like how the 3 rules play out and how they are presented. Life is not the same for any two people. We want to judge, compare, and contrast with others around us, but like our fingerprints, no two are the same.
I finally understood what you meant. My DMP has no wills in it. I was just speaking in a overall aspect. Thank you for looking by the way.
I agree, that is what the 3 rules are about and what you said is really the outcome of using the 3 rules effectively, thank you.
Thank you Day, I feel the same way that is why I felt compelled to right this. Finding bliss in the journey is the only way to change the outcome of our lives for the better.
So true and what an amazing movie! Thank you for tying it in with our MK experience.
May I suggest, “It brings us great joy and fulfillment,” Enjoy the journey!
Rich, I agree with Day all the way! 🙂
That sums up our Master Key Experience, right, Rich? It’s a JOURNEY! And as the observer, I can see all 3 rules in play in the material and the exercises. Thanks for sharing your perspective!
