When my retirement has brought about no time restraints on the control of my thoughts, they tend to go to the past and how I should have changed that event or confrontation with another person or the future and plan an outcome.
I go off task and have to continue to bring myself back to reality. I find the subconscious taking over and my body putting the clean dishes away or etc.
I guess when I want to create a solution or design something I should find pencil and paper or an easy chair and a timer to bring myself into conscious clarity. Then, relax and start to create. If the timer goes off I check to see if I am on task creating and reset the timer if I need it.
Keep doing sits! Controlling my thoughts is important so I do not waste my time. Any other suggestions from the readers?

Love the timer idea and the quote you shared. Thanks!
I really like the idea of setting the timer. Thanks, Joan, I will try that one.
