MKE Week 9 – I Greet Today With Love

The past few days I have been recovering from surgery in the hospital. I was nervous about the surgery but deep down in my Subby I knew I’d be okay.

Before my surgery I read my Plan of Action card and Service Card 3 times, Law of Giving, “Gal in the Glass”, and Scroll 2.

Seeing all the blue rectangles everywhere on signs, railings, hospital booties, pillowcases and blankets, reminded me to say “Do it now!” 25 times and “I can be what I will to be” 20 times. So I said my affirmations without caring that the other patients thought I was weird.

Post surgery I struggled doing my MKE lessons and readings because I was exhausted and in pain. However, I was determined to do my daily reads so I focused on the easier reads first like the Plan of Action, Service card, movie trailer, etc.

I made time to watch the Week 9 webinar replay. It was hard staying awake since the anti-nausea pills and pain medication made me sleepy but I did it!” Woo hoo!

Throughout the day I listened to the Week 9 audio file while I rested and my DMP recording during my walks. When my mind was more alert, I read the Master Keys, etc.

During one of my early morning walks, I brought my Week 9 Master Keys with me. I rested my binder on the blue railings and started to read.

All of a sudden I could feel my feet move into first position, second position, etc. I haven’t done barre exercises since before Covid. Somehow Subby linked bar railing with barre class and my feet did the moves without me thinking about it. So I did my readings while my feet did their own dance. It’s amazing what Subby can remember with the right trigger.

When I went on my daily walks, I’d spot blue rectangles (masks, railings, signs), red circles (lids, signs), yellow squares (signs), and green triangles (wall lotion dispensers).

The blue rectangles reminded me to do my affirmations. Red circles reminded me I needed to clean one more microwave and research how to write a business plan. The yellow square reminded me I needed to do yoga and Pilates exercises. The green triangles reminded me to eat healthy meals for True Health.

Yesterday my roommate was upset she could hear me talking on the phone, despite me trying to be as quiet as possible. This morning she complained that having my light on was contributing to her headache. The nurse asked if I could turn off my light. So I turned off the light and worked on my schoolwork by the light from the bathroom and my phone’s flashlight.

I decided to greet the day with love in my heart. I also sent love towards my roommate’s side of the room and wished her a good day. I was not going to let her ruin my day!

I greet this day with love in my heart. And how will I act? I love all manners of men for each has qualities to be admired even though they be hidden. With love I tear down the wall of suspicion and hate which they have built round their hearts and in its place, I build bridges so that my love may enter their souls.

Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World, p. 60.

I saw the sunrise this morning. The coniferous trees (green triangles!) were wrapped with white low lying clouds. The glow of orange and yellow sky rose above the trees and low lying clouds. It was so peaceful, so magical.

I greet this day with love, and I succeed.
