Growing up, I did not have a personal relationship with a Higher Power. Although my Parents did not participate, my sisters and I were brought up in the Church. I guess they thought it was the right thing to do.

I was an altar boy, a reader, I sang in the Folk Group, I volunteered to teach Sunday school and at one point thought that I might want to go into the Seminary. I just never believed in the concept of the big bearded guy on the throne, up in the sky.

Throughout the past 60 years or so, I came to believe that God (good) was in people and so was the devil (evil). When I separated from my Spouse 14 months ago and joined a 12 Step fellowship, I started to consider the possibility of something or someone greater than myself.

At first, my home group became my HP. Then slowly I began to believe that certain things that had happened in my life we not merely “coincidences.” I slowed down and took a look around and became an observer for once in my life.

I began to see things happen that had to be attributed to a divine power and I realized that, that power was within me all along! About the same time, I started the Master Key Experience. The tools that I was learning from my fellowship along with the tools that were being presented in MKE were eerily similar.

Now that was NOT a coincidence!

Less than 2 weeks ago, a good friend, one of a group of five of us who hung out together on Holidays, for dinner, movies, theater, birthdays, sporting events, etc., was not heard from and after the authorities were called, he was found deceased in his condo. He had just left me a message 3 days before and we were playing phone tag.

So, Og Mandino’s The Scroll marked V from Chapter 12 in his book The Greatest Salesman in the World begins: “I will live this day as if it is my last!”

Was this a coincidence that I started this reading only two days before my friends passing? I think not!

The Scroll marked V ends:

I will live this day as if it is my last. And if it is not, I shall fall to my knees and give thanks.

  • So sorry for the separation of your marriage and the loss of your friend. There are no coincidences and this chapter in GS is so powerful.

  • Well, you have me in tears over you and your spouse seperating and then your friend passing away. My heart goes out to you. I don’t believe in coincedences and after taking this class shows that what comes to us is from of the power within that attracts people, things, circumstances to us. That is how we all found Mark and through this course we are fortunate to know we need to live each day to the fullest as if it’s our last!

  • My heart reaches out to you Mike and to your dear friend. Grateful that you are embracing your Hero’s journey. Always know that you have encouragement (guides) along the way. Kudos for digging in and engaging…it’s Week 19…celebrate all the growth and insights you have discovered so far. We are cheering you on!
