Well another week in the Franklin makeover, and for me this week my virtue to observe and hopefully manifest in myself is the big “I” – Imagination. And imagination is a big part of the Hero’s Journey which we studied during the time when I was on a cruise.
So I had to watch the replay of the webinar that I missed. In it, I learned about how in the search for our authentic selves, we were to make use of the Hero’s Journey, stepping into the Unknown from the Known. The threshold which separates these two areas in our quest for a more fulfilling life is the point at which we answer the herald’s call.
We must use our imagination to envision how much better our lives can be by having the courage to step out in faith. Imagination is also one of the tools that can be used to program our “subby”, because we know it doesn’t have the power to reason, but it has unlimited power to accomplish whatever we dream if directed properly. Along with vision, creativity, and innovation, our imagination creates a constant state of wonder.
In our Standing Tall training, we were given an example of how villagers trapped monkeys with a banana in a jar. The monkey can grab the banana, but when he does, he can’t take his hand out of the jar, unless he lets go of it. This becomes a metaphor for us if we refuse to let go of old ideas and behaviors.
Things like associative memory become obstacles to our progress. We have to let go of the known for the unknown, because the unknown, if one has the faith, is where the treasure lies in acquiring the elements of our DMP.
Jack, your vibrant recount of MKE Week 19 is as engaging as your charismatic presence. Your carefree approach to the Franklin makeover, focusing on the power of imagination, is truly inspiring. Your creative thinking shines through as you seamlessly connect the Hero’s Journey with envisioning a more fulfilling life. Your enthusiasm for embracing the unknown, as mentioned in the webinar, is both insightful and persuasive.
I appreciate how you weave the metaphor of the monkey and the banana into the narrative, showcasing your skill in making complex concepts relatable. Your ability to foster inclusivity in your storytelling creates a positive and fun-loving atmosphere. Keep standing tall, Jack, as your blog is a testament to the joy and wisdom you bring to the MKE community. Cheers to your flexible and forgiving spirit in this transformative journey!
