I want to give a big thank you to Shirley for hosting our watch party and sharing the zoom link with others who were interested.
The documentary we watched really struck a chord with me. It had a human-centered perspective that emphasized the importance of love, empathy, and compassion in tackling the big issues we face in society and the environment.
What stood out to me was how it showed that individual actions can have a big impact, making us rethink what’s important in life. The documentary really got me thinking about how connected we all are as humans.
It followed the director, Tom Shadyac, as he traveled around the world exploring different ideas and interviewing important people like Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Noam Chomsky.
It made me realize that sometimes it takes something big, like Shadyac’s near-death experience, to make us stop and take a closer look at the world around us. One thing that really touched me was the idea of “the power of one.”
It reminded me that even though we’re all part of a bigger picture, we each have our own unique strengths and abilities to make a difference. This aligns with what ONE promotes, emphasizing how individual voices can come together to create real change in society.
Despite what some people might think, the documentary brings to light that we’re actually wired to love, cooperate, and share with each other. It encourages us to see that we all have the power to make a difference, starting with ourselves.
So true! Great idea to watch it together – good for you:)
