The last time I took a college course was in 1973. Wow! That’s 50 years!!

Somehow 5 decades have passed and I have not had the nerve to imagine I could succeed in doing college level coursework.

This time LAST year, a dear friend invited me to do the Master Key Experience. She was so enthusiastic and sang MKE’s praises. At the time, I was caught up in full-time caregiving for my Brother who has stage 4 prostate cancer. I did not believe I could stay the course and after paying my $1, I was not able to engage in the MKE.

Here we are a year later, my Brother having endured and survived many alarms, much suffering and sadness… and I am burned out and so stressed, it is really affecting my health. I have daily headaches, unsteadiness, anxiety and mental fog. And everyone has told me for years that I need to take care of myself first.

God’s timing, this fall it dawned on me that doing the Master Key Experience might be just exactly what I need right now. So I paid my $1 again and proceeded to watch videos and get my supplies. I believed it would be a commitment of an hour a day and Mark said it would add up to one week of my life total over the 6 months the course lasts. Sounded very doable.

Then I began digging further into the prep and I got concerned that I would not be able to keep up the pace with all the reading and routines. My head was spinning on Sunday afternoon, but I showed up online for the first webinar. Following the notes, one concept at a time my doubt eased a bit. I decided to just give it a go!!

This week, I have had daily migraines, anxiety and overwhelming non-stop responsibilities for my Brother, and my Mother who is 93. And I’m trying to play catch up with the rest of my life and my home business which has been on hold for months, years.

It was reassuring when Davene acknowledged that they intentionally throw a lot at us at first. I have not found my rhythm yet to be compliant with the daily ritual of reading, writing and arithmetic. But I’ve sampled enough of the weekly process, the tip of the iceberg of Inspiring writings, Good Vibes and Hope, that I am going to keep going.

See you all in class and looking forward to excelling in being my personal best. Thank you!
