Right now, I need all the tools to support me where I AM at right now. Two and a half years ago, I lost my right foot in a ladder incident. I had no underlying health issues and the orthopedic surgeon was able to re-attach my foot.
I spent 6 months in the hospital, 4 months of outpatient wound care, 7 weeks back in the hospital for reconstructive surgery, 4 months later I was back in the hospital for the fusion surgery.
I AM in a wheelchair, I use a walker to get exercise, using only my left leg to walk. February 2023, I was allowed to put weight on my right foot. I started Aqua Therapy in April, I AM making progress, l have graduated from my boot to a special brace currently being made at North Shore Prosthetics and Orthotics. I am looking forward to walking without a walker.
I share all of this to give an idea of what I AM experiencing. I have maintained a positive attitude through all of this, my life seriously changed from being active and independent, to being still and dependent. I have cried, I have laughed, I have celebrated my wins, I have felt stuck and unmotivated.
I saw the Master Key Experience class starting again, so I decided to enroll. I AM a repeat student, I attended MKE in 2017. I loved everything I learned, I kept up with some of the practices. The timing for me to be in this class is perfect. I am excited to form “good habits and become their slave.” This blog will be a great way to track my progress. I AM.
You are pure inspiration. What a spirit; what a winner. I only hope I could be as brave and strong as you facing a similar situation. That is pure hero stuff. There is a tendency for my chiropractor self to kick in and offer things for you to do. But, I don’t want to violate any MKE protocols by doing so. Let me say there are things you could take advantage on Kauai that would help (I assume you are on Kauai). I just wrote a blog for week 8 that does a deep dive into victimhood mentality (which you definitely don’t have!). I am as proud of you as if you were family member (and you are). What a soul and a light you are! Keep shining.
Mimo, you are an inspiration. Your positive attitude kept you moving forward through all of your struggles. That same attitude and persistence will have you walking soon. Congratulations on everything you have done so far and everything that is coming your way.
So good to have you back Mimo.
You are one determined lady and it’s great to hear you have celebrated your wins and here’s to many more.
Mimo, my challenge is more mental in nature. I momentarily forgot your name. LOL
Although still too early to tell, perhaps, is yet to go, so far you’ve been an example to others of how to stay positive when dealing with physical hardship. Bravo!!! 🙂
Welcome back Mimo! The gold is showing.
Wow, Mimo. What an incredible share. You indeed ARE — amazing, inspirational, special and miraculous! Thank you for helping us know you better.
