Where do I start. I guess it would be a few weeks ago when I had my first one-on-one with Mark J. He asked me my colour (Yellow) and he said “You have trouble completing things, don’t you?” I immediately thought of all that I have completed recently and said “not usually.”
In the 2 weeks since then my awareness was more acute and to my horror I discovered that yes, I have problems in that area. I look at a number of books with book marks in – started but not finished. I look at my desk… we won’t go there… but I did find my list of people to send sympathy notes to. Not done yet. And I am too embarrassed to list any other things.
So the past couple of weeks that is what I have been doing – some reading consistently every day and a lot of birthday, etc., notes. It was a great sense of accomplishment to have them off my invisible ‘to do’ list.
So now I know with this course I will have many ‘to do’ lists for each day. Here it is day 4 and, for the most part, if that list was written down I could check 95% of the items. Do I feel the 5% was a failure? Absolutely not. Life happens and sometimes some things just cannot get done. It is an encouraging start.
If it were there I would have chosen a picture of a turtle/tortoise. Remember the story of the Tortoise and the Hare. Didn’t the Tortoise often say “…I may be so slow, but I’m sure.”? Well that is how I feel – sure good things will be learned and done. Here’s to next week.

Good blog entry, Peggy! And I understand….because I also suffer from liking yellow and having a hard time completing things. And…do I know Mark J? Hmmmmm.
It sounds like Mark J’s question really got you thinking about your completion habits, and that realization has been eye-opening. It takes courage to confront something like that about yourself, so congratulations on taking that first step.
Thanks, Peggy for the share… I am a “white” but I do have my yellow side as well, so I can totally relate to the “trouble completing things” area. You made great progress on your “list” and I know this course will help me with mine!
Peggy, here’s to the next 26 weeks!
Excellent, Peggy! Sounds like a lot of wins this week:)
