MKE Week 1 – Procrastination Excuses

Sure, we’ve all procrastinated a time or two. I’m trying to validate my reasons for procrastination by these current simple truths:

I relocated from one state to another, with only a small truck load of belongings and my support pets, because I became homeless and unemployed due to health-related issues.

I got down on myself for letting myself get to this point, thinking I could overcome it by waiting for something better to happen to me. I kept telling myself, it will get better. Someone will figure out my worth and give me a break. It didn’t happen.

I kept getting these invites to the MKE and all I thought was that I didn’t have time for it, that I have to find a place to rest my head and food and water to sustain me and my pets. After a month of roughing it in the desert in a shed (that hasn’t changed, yet), I made a way to survive until I find a way to something better.

I am giving MKE my best because I deserve my best. If it weren’t for the scholarship, I doubt I’d be here. I am grateful to the previous for this opportunity.
