I learned this week that I enjoy being an observer rather than blurting out my opinion about things that I am not an expert on.
The exercise was not as easy as I thought it would be for me. I usually keep my “twinkle hole” shut when it comes to opinionated discussions of religion and politics. But I didn’t realize how many times I caught myself giving my opinion on other topics.
As soon as I heard the words, “Well, I think”, slip out of my mouth, I immediately stopped myself. I had friends say to me, “you’re awful quiet”. I just responded with, “I just don’t have an opinion on that right now.” Very interesting!
Repeating the law of giving has become my favorite reading/exercise. I learned a long time ago about how to receive a gift or compliment properly, but l was not so good at giving them out. This has helped so much.
In just a few short readings, I have learned to LOVE Scroll 2. I so respect the words, the feelings generated and also brevity of this beautiful passage.
One thing that I am struggling with is the linking of the colors and shapes by seeing them in my daily life. Haanel says, “practice makes perfect.” So, I am going into this week with my eyes wide open.
