Week 6 Blog post – Opinions are like…
Knowing that, I as a red, I still needed a few dozen reminders. Saturday and Sunday my partner and I took a healthy drive to a funeral on his side. We rode with his brother and sister-in-law. I felt the excess opinions dribble down my chin several times… Yes, I had many.
So many it was hard to laugh when I stopped to realize it. Such a lovely exercise! At one point I got a headache trying not to listen to opinions and focus on the good. Oh, boy!
It also, just so happened that I am doing a Color Code workshop (with Mark J. and team) through my business and I am on the 4th Verity, Action Focused and Attachment Free.
So I am recording this verity and the phone rings and distracts me. I begin again further up than I was. As I reread the piece, I literally said out loud, my words slowed and then stopped. “Wow, now I get it!” The light bulb lit up. Here it is:
“I fully understand there is no new wisdom found in what I am attached to and already know. Standing Tall in the dynamic field of uncertainty finds the new insights and infinite potential needed to actualize my purpose easily.” (Standing Tall, p.71)
The years of bologna I have accumulated have nothing to do with the person I intend to be. As a cartoon depicted when I was a child, “Oh the noise! I can’t stand the noise!”
So even relistening to the recording I seemed to space out the first time and enjoy the ah-ha the second time. I bet that wasn’t an accident.
Moving forward, I see blue skies and an empty mind! Such an oddly peaceful feeling. Observing takes me out of that automatic opinion response. As Haanel said,
“The power of attention can be more readily understood by comparing it with a magnifying glass in which the rays of sunlight are focused…let the glass be held perfectly still and let the rays be focused on one spot for any length of time, the effect will become immediately apparent.” (Haanel, MK Part 6, p. 3).
I take more time to focus, sit in silence, observe and find more things to be grateful for and I Stand Tall in character and walk freely again.
Beautiful Roxie. AH HA
Master-filled ah-ha’s. I’m on the same Verity also in Standing Tall…This one is a game changer, especially matched with the 4th of the Riches. How wonderfully it works with what we are doing here in MKE. Love the reminders, Roxie!
LoL! Luv it! I feel in a similar boat and definitely seeing the humourous side! 🙂
Good job Roxie! I love that when you re-read the passage, the lightbulb moment came! You are connecting the dots!!
