This month we are reading “The Greatest Salesman in The World, Og Mandino” Scroll 4. The Title is “I am nature’s greatest miracle” There are lots of things to consider in this chapter.
On Pg 70 he writes

“I am a unique creature of nature. I am rare, and there is value in all rarity; therefore, I am valuable. I am the product of thousands of years of evolution; therefore, I am better equipped in both mind and body than all the emperors and wise men who preceded me. But my skills, my mind, my heart, and my body will stagnate, rot, and die lest I put them to good use. I have unlimited potential. Only use a small portion of my brain do I employ; only a paltry amount of muscles do I flex. A hundredfold or more can I increase my accomplishments of yesterday and this I will do, beginning today.”

The Greatest Salesman in The World, Og Mandino, page 70

Thinking about this really made me think about what it took for me or you to be here today! It truly is a miracle – an unfolding. “Only using a small portion of my brain do I employ” made me ask myself who and what was I allowing to be poured into my brain. In the Master Key Experience Class, we read an insightful passage and then sit still in silence to ponder it. It is a form of Meditation.

It is bringing me to a place of silence where I am realizing that God is much bigger than I was allowing Him to be in my life. That does not mean that suddenly life is perfect, but it is helping me to choose what I want to allow in to direct my thoughts.

On Pg 71, OG continues with a section that gives me extra insight when problems arise – look at them as “great opportunities in disguise.” I now chose to use my mind to think things through instead of just letting my emotion rule it.

“I have been given eyes to see and a mind to think and now I know a great secret of life for I perceive, at last, that all my problems, discouragements, and heartaches are, in truth, great opportunities in disguise. I will no longer be fooled by the garments they wear. No beast, no plant, no wind, no rain, no rock, no lake had the same beginning as I, for I was conceived in love and brought forth with a purpose. In the past I have not considered this fact, but it will henceforth shape and guide my life. for mine eyes are open. I will look beyond the cloth, and I will not be deceived.”

This leads me to seek wisdom from within leading again to unfoldment as described in the following quote. . .

“He who desires wisdom, power, or permanent success of any kind will find it only within; it is an unfoldment. The unthinking may conclude that the silence is very simple and easily attained, but it should be remembered that only in absolute silence may one come into contact with Divinity itself; may learn of the unchangeable law and open for himself the channels by which persistent practice and concentration lead to perfection.”

Charles Haanel, The Master Key System 12:27

So how do we know what we believe?? There is a choice there! One choice is to fill our thoughts with what we hear and see in the media. The media bombards us to tell us what we believe. It is easy to be pulled in. What if we make a different choice? What if we choose to limit the noise and find ways to go into the silence to seek God’s wisdom to feed our spirits? Then your journey can unfold like a butterfly. Start as a cocoon and gradually unfold into a beautiful unique wise butterfly.

Remember you are already nature’s greatest miracle and the scripture Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

  • Hi Patricia, Your post today reminds us that we are each a miracle and uniquely created. Secondly, we have the reminder that we will each face problems and heartaches but we can choose to see these circumstances as opportunities. And as we become consistent at meditating we open ourselves to the Divine. Thank you for this lovely post.
