Let me get started by saying: the order of progression of the Haanel sits are brilliant for me.
When we started the 15-30 minutes sits, at first it seemed that 15 minutes took forever. As the days passed and between weeks 2 and week 3, things changed to where 30 minutes was not enough, and that is still the case. I spend a few seconds when I start my sits relaxing my body and nerves, relaxing my mind, and then I can easily focus on whatever the sit that particular week’s Haanel directs for the sit.
Now we’re on week 10. The first couple of days, I couldn’t even finish the square. I would blink and the lines would disappear. Then I tried just keeping my eyes opened and not blinking; that was not good either. I finally managed to get the square pictured all drawn on the wall, but as soon as I started to draw the circle, the square would disappear.
I shared my experience with Tribe Resolute. (my MKE tribe) Members of the tribe described their experiences and shared thoughts. So today, armed with some masterminding tools, my sit progressed much further.
The new challenge for this challenge is that I am now easily drawing the square and the circle inside the square, but as soon as I finish the square, the square turns yellow, so even when I pull the dot towards me to form the cone, the corners of the square (the base of the cone) are yellow.
And this is why for me, the Haanel sit progressions are brilliant: Started by controlling being able to sit still and control our body; no nose scratching, no finger tapping, just sitting completely still, then moving to controlling the mind and clearing all thoughts, then controlling and directing specific thoughts.
With this challenge I realized that I’ve been doing the last several weeks of sits controlling with almost no other thoughts popping in and having to re-direct. These last 3 days with this exercise, I have not had any other thought pop in. The only thought is drawing that squared based cone on my white wall for the entire 30 minutes.
I still have work to do, and with the Law of Relaxation, plus the tools I’ve picked up along the way; challenge accepted!
Yes, I found that particular Sit Exercise challenging as well. Good for you, Pedro!
