This week I came across a Latin saying, with its origin dating back 2000 years, that says “per aspera ad astra”. Which translated means “through adversity to the stars” or “through hardship to the stars”.
As I contemplated the meaning behind this Latin saying, the more it resonated with me and this incredible journey we are on here on the MKE highway.
Initially there was some sense of overwhelming task saturation that then morphed into a daily routine that was eye opening as well as mentally invigorating. Not knowing what to expect yet eager for the incredible life changing aspects that we know are the results of the work we put in, all too soon collided with previous blueprint programming and the ensuing spectre of unsatisfactory results that manifest in ways we had hoped to alter.
Maybe a spousal disagreement, or perhaps a response to a rude traffic incident or any myriad combination of events that so often made up our previous reality. Enter Og Mandino and Scroll III.
Persistence, regardless of the setback, is where the rubber meets the road. There is no advice given as to how many times or how often one should try in order to achieve mastery of the outcome. The answer is IN the persistence!
Thus Per Aspera Ad Astra! Through hardship, to the stars we go!
“The answer is in the persistence.” I like it. It’s true. I’ll meet you in the stars, Ron!
Ron, Came by to see what you wrote and I’m proud of your solid attitude of where you are. That is hard to go through so many things and keep up the PMA. Congratulations you’re doing great my man.
“Ad astra per aspera” (to the stars through difficulties) is the motto of the great state of Kansas – my favorite state! Persistence! Just keep going!
