“The Conscious Mind is accepted reasoning, the Subconscious Mind is instinctive desire, the result of past accepted reasoning will. The subconscious observes outside sources and reaches a conclusion based on already accepted beliefs. The subconscious needs no proof, it relies on the conscious mind to protect it from mistaken impressions. If the conscious mind is filled with accepted wrong impressions, it will seed the poor thoughts through to the subconscious mind.”
Charles Haanel, The Master Key System, Part 2: 15-17.
This is why so many humans suffer. Our conscious minds have accepted stories, premises and other people’s beliefs that are not true for us. It is why ideas like racism, ageism, sexism, and many others carry so much weight because we keep them alive by so many people giving their energy to end it or to keep the idea relevant and alive.
At one point or another our conscious mind has accepted ideas that do not serve us and stop us from growing into the best version of ourselves. Starting from the womb, we have been indoctrinated with our parents and grandparents fears and worries and negative thoughts and beliefs. Because of that, we end up in survival mode for everything. We do not believe we deserve to live in happiness. We spend our time on our own emotional rollercoaster.
We find someone or something that makes us happy, but we end up pushing them or it away because our belief is when it is going too well the next event will be bad. This type of thinking keeps us in a cycle of storms that never seem to end.
Right now, at this moment we are trying to remove all this cement that mostly was passed to us and helped us create the life we currently would like to improve. For us it may be just a little bit harder because of our experience. Truthfully, we think ourselves into every experience. I know for me it was, but only because I thought it had to be. Now, when I look at successful individuals that come from similar or even worse backgrounds than myself, I know with the right and consistent mindset, it is guaranteed.
Do not get me wrong, I understand that depending on where you are on your journey, you may have to deal with some untreated trauma but after that it is understanding who you truly are beyond the experience you had that stunted your emotional growth.
This journey is a process, and I am beginning to understand that it is only as hard as it is, because I believed it had to be. I refuse to continue to live a life of quiet desperation, with no true destination in mind. So, I am here, fully invested.
So be mindful of your dominating thoughts and remember to have fun and take this seriously, but do not be so serious.
